The whole reason we planned this trip to Alaska:
Gabe and Tessa's wedding... aren't they a beautiful couple?

We had a group baptism... at my Aunt's church. Here is Winter. She was a little freaked out about the baptism. I have to tell this funny story. Winter went to church with Meg and saw Jesus on the crucifix. She asked Meg who that was and Meg answered. "That's Jesus Christ, he died for our sins." Winter then said, "And they just left him like that?" Oh, the things children say!

This is my Aunt Meg and Uncle Gary's backyard! We had family pictures done in Fairbanks. These are not the professional photographers pics, these are the candid shots. My dad, Aunt Meg, Grandma, and Uncle Drew. This is not a flattering picture, but it is my favorite one of Ebin.

My Aunt Meg's cat weighs more than Barrett. Her name is Niko but I affectionately renamed her "Square Kitty" due to her square shape.

Under Construction

We are currently in the process of installing bamboo flooring. Here are some pictures of our construction zone. This is the foyer midway through. Here is the dining room before.
Here is the dining room with the carpet pulled out, pretty, huh? The wall on the right was the same rose color as the rest of the dining room but we decided to add an accent wall where the hutch goes that matches the foyer, hall, and living room.
And here is the front living room, temporarily the dining room, with the majority of the floors down. It is really starting to look nice. I can't wait til it is all done.
Of course, we have to have the token picture of Bear. He just loves his jumper. We were able to move him to this larger doorway so he is very happy to have more room to jump around.
We are heading off to Alaska in a few days so don't expect any new posts for awhile. We will be updating the blog with tons of pictures from our trip when we get back.

Barrett's Esophagus?!?

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
So, I signed up for these Google Ads so I could make an extra $.50 a month... : ) these ads keep coming up for something called Barrett's esophagus and I am thinking "what in the heck is that" so I finally looked it up and I guess it is a rare symptom associated with acid reflux in which your esophagus becomes irritated and could potentially lead to esophageal cancer. Nice. So, my son's name is now associated forever in my mind with esophageal cancer.

Sitting Pretty

Bear's cousin Bella has inspired him to sit up... of course she has has a little more practice as she is his older cousin by 7 weeks. Can you tell they are related?

This one is on the 4th of July...

we went out on the boat so he had to wear his swim trunks, a gift from Auntie Linda. It was soooo hot. We ended up sending Barrett home with my parents halfway through the day so he could cool down. I even had to swim a few times to cool down, it was at least a 100 degrees and today it is supposed to be 105! Aargh!

A-OK

Just wanted to post a quick note to let everyone know that my gallbladder surgery went well. I am still in a bit of pain but the vicodin helps with that. I guess my gallbadder had more stones than they originally thought and it was definitely not working. It's funny cause the worst part of the pain is my neck and shoulders which is from the gas they used to blow up my stomach so they could see everything. Barrett was a superstar while I was incapacitated which was a huge relief for me. Will post some pictures soon. By the way, Barrett turned 5 months on Friday too! I can't believe how quickly he is growing up.
