Who does Barrett look like?
I saw this on another blog... and I copied... I know, I know. I couldn't help it. Like so many new parents, the question of who the baby looks like is rampant. As much as I would like to think Barrett gets all his good looks from me, I guess he looks more like Kimball. Most people would agree with this I think. Maybe the next one will look like me : )
Another good video
Here is another great video on all the wonderful things mom's say in one day. I figured since my dad and sister in law Deana forwarded it on that it was worth aharing...
Bedtime Song
My sister in law, Andrea, sent this to me via email. I thought it was great and had to share with everyone. It is kind of long, but well worth the listen.

Mama's Boy
I put Bear in this little "Bear suit" the other day and just had to get some pictures cause he looked so cute! My mom got this for him on our Alaska trip and it is 18 Months!!! I can't believe it fits him already... should fit for awhile since he has some room to grow. This is Barrett's latest and greatest:
He is always sticking his tongue out, it is pretty funny. Kimball was trying to get a picture of him doing it and could only get these two before Bear decided he was done with that game. Of course, as soon as the camera went away out came the tongue.

Just to show you what a Mama's boy the little man is. He does say Dada, but Mama is his favorite word right now.

My Little Man
Man, things have been crazy around our house with me being back in school and Kimball studying for his PE exam. School is going well. I really love my Writing Center class and I started taking consultations this week and that has been great. It is very rewarding to be able to help someone with their writing, I am really enjoying it. My other class is a little more of a struggle (I don't seem to be the only one so this makes me feel better). It is a Cultural Studies class and is very high level theory. We spent the last two classes discussing one piece of the puzzle, that is how complicated this is. I have to do a final paper/presentation and I am going to do it on "The Flavor of Love" show on VH1. I am embarrased to admit I watch it but it is kind of addicting and offers a lot for a cultural study so we will see how that goes. Bear is really enjoying his time with my buddy Danielle and her son Owen and of course with his Grandma Chooks. I am just so grateful I didn't have to put him in daycare.
Here are some fun pictures of Bear. I was messing around with the camera getting some close ups. I just think he has the most beautiful eyes and the sweetest little lips. He is now giving big slobbery kisses, which of course I ask for on an hourly basis. The other day Danielle sent Bear home in this shirt... Kimball always teases Owen's dad about wearing pink so this was kind of a joke on Kimball. I think Bear looks pretty nice in pink though. Watch out Kimball, we better have a girl next or I will be buying pink clothes for the next one :)
This is a little sweater I made for Bear that I have been dying to have him wear... we had a chilly day so I got to pull out the sweater! He loves that stuffed cat. We have started calling it Lurk cause my Grandma's neighbor got it for him and that is his nickname from my Dad. Bob, his real name, likes to peer out his garage at everyone driving by in the neighborhood. Hope he doesn't read my blog.
Bear has also taken to rolling around the whole house in order to get from A and B. I read that crawling was not considered a developmental milestone, so maybe this is his version... he is pretty good at getting where he wants, especially when it involves Chuie, his best friend ever!
And the final installment for the week.
Do you think he needs to lose weight? Just kidding, that shirt is 9 months and since he had never worn it and soiled his other clothes I thought I would try it on him. It doesn't fit... obviously. I have had to put away all of his 9 month clothes and some of them he never wore cause it was too hot...

Look What I Can Do!
Bear had a mohawk when he woke up the other morning. It was pretty funny. He is really into playing with his toys right now. He rolls all the way across the room to get what he wants. Last night it was my dirty flip flops. The further we moved them away the more he reached for them. It was pretty fun to watch him, he was so determined.
Here is Bear trying out some new tricks... eating bananas and his favorite head shake.

Rubber Ducky
When he is really excited he just shoves it in his face like this:
He also makes some really great snorting noises.
"What, what you talking about. Just chewing on this ducky here. Thinking about giving it a little washing with this washcloth".
Yeah, that's right. I got myself a little yellow rubber friend.
On a side note, Barrett has acquired his very first cold. It was inevitable I know, but still. It was quickly passed on to me and now Kimball is thinking he caught it too. To pass along the germs is to say "I love you."
I realize I may be a bit cheesy and delirious right now, but I am after all, loaded up on cold medicine :)
